The epic poems

The word epic comes from the Greek noun "epos" that means "the poet's oral exposition".The two major epic poem in Western are Iliad and Odissey,written by Homer(Greek poet).The epic poem is a long narrative poetical composition with the recollection of a glorious past,the praise of the great,brave deeds of heroes and the death of a hero.The society decribed in epic poetry is aristocratic and military.
The narrative of the epic poetry is made up of a narrative formulae:banquet,battle,voyage,funeral.
The main theme is the nature of heroic society.The style is elevated,the vocabulary is rich and various.
The complementary made to epic poetry was the elegy.It's a lyrical poem in form of a dramatic monologue.The most important theme of a elegy was the exile or called also "wracca".The melancholic mood of this poem is in vivid and descriptive language.It's a long narrative text en vers that tell the deeds of the heroes.There are historical and supernatural elements.
The places are:castles,halls,battles of fields and characters are the kings,heroes and militaries.

San Valentine's Day

This is the story about San Valentine's Day.
Valentine was a priest and he lived over 1000 years ago.We don't know how he looked like.
During the Roman Empire there was an emperor called Claudius that to make wars he decided a new law that the people couldn't married,so the men could join his army.So Valentine decided to marry the people secretly,sometimes at the night.Claudius discovered him and so Valentine was caught and sent to prison.
Claudius must be killed because he broke the law.When the people discovered what had happened to Valentine they felt very desperate and so they gave him flowers,presents and cards.One guard had a daughter that visited Valentine and they talked for hours and became very friends.On the day that he died,he before wrote a letter to his friends to thanks them and he signed"From your Valentine".He died on 14th February.

 This article is about a very beautiful actress:Anne Hathaway.She become famous thanks to film as" The Devil wears Prada","Brokeback Mountain"and others.In the 2007,years of this article she was to the cinema with the film"Becoming Jane's".
In this passage there is a career of this great actress,above all her last role in Jane Austen,a very famous writer that died at the age of 41.In this film is told all her life.
The journalist as curiosity take that Anne Hathaway is the same name of Shakespear's wife and for this she became famous and he observe that in this film there are many differents accents.
According to me is beautiful to report the life of a very grat actress as Anne Hathaway,because she is very interesting as he roles above all that in the "Devil wears Prada".

Steve Jobs-His speech

In 2005 he made a very beautiful speech at the graduate of Stranford University:The" Commencement Speech".This speech is  about three stories.The first one tells  how to connect the dots.He was given up for adoption.The couple who took him up for adoption could send him to college,but he left the study because they were too expansive.Then,having the free choice of lessons,he took classes of calligraphy.All this things helped him to form the Apple ,connecting all the dots of his life.The second one is about love and loss.When Steve founded Apple,with society,he was first dismissed,then the Apple company bought the small company that he founded and so he returned to its original foundation.The third story is about death.One days he was diagnosed with cancer,but he had very clear idea of death:death is the one that wipes out the old to make room for the new.He tought that we don't have to waste a moment of our brief existence,for this he said always "Stay Hungry.Stay Foolish".
